Words and Music by Elisa Grace
Torn among you and him, me and them, her and me
Defense and offense, success and distress
Torn, day and night, between wrong and right
Love and hate, cause and fate, me and you
Worn out by justice and peace, democracy and poverty
Simpleness and prosperity
Torn, most and least, by sincere and clear
Confusion and conclusion, black and white
Tear me on the dotted line
You seem so inclined
Yeah you’re showing me all the signs
Tearin’ slowly
It’s more than fine
Torn between wait and chase, sittin’ here or at your place
Smilin’ or poutin’, the beach and the mountains
Summer or winter I am torn from what is and can be
Romantic movies and comedies
Tear me on the dotted line
You seem so inclined
Yeah you’re showing me all the signs
Tearin’ slowly
It’s more than fine
Tear me on the dotted line
You seem so inclined
Yeah you’re showing me all the signs
Tearin’ slowly
It’s more than fine
You dared me to walk the line
So just tear me
I’m more than fine

Long winding roads
Strong doors that close
Songs in the air
Seem to sing
I’ll be there
Beautiful Rose
With her beautiful clothes
What her man doesn’t know
Is the hollowness deep in her soul, he says
I’ll be there when the sun stops shining
I’ll be there when the clouds roll in
I’ll be there when the roads starts winding
I’ll be there when you need a friend
I’ll be there…I’ll be there
Platinum and diamonds on a band
Help pass time for her head in her hands
Then she finds out her man
Wants to sign out of their plan
I’ll be there when the sun stops shining
I’ll be there when the clouds roll in
I’ll be there when the roads starts winding
I’ll be there when you need a friend
I’ll be there…I’ll be there
I’ll be there when the sun stops shining
I’ll be there when the clouds roll in
I’ll be there when the roads starts winding
I’ll be there when you need a friend
I’ll be there…I’ll be there
I’ll be there…I’ll be there…

I never cared for that old prom dress
Those scattered days were such a mess
I let my thoughts take me back
Maybe they’ll help me to stay on track
Sometimes when the world’s not kind
I really wish you were still mine
And though I may be moving slow
I’m still finding my way, my way home
And I’ve learned living in the past won’t set me free
I’ll always cherish our memories
I’m not sure how my story will read, but I know
The road I’m looking down
Looks good to me
I was born in a college town
Where people don’t always stick around
What I learned when I left
Was to trust myself and try my best
I believed that I’d be fine
If I could keep what was mine
And so I’m holding onto hope
That one day I’ll find my way home
I’ve learned living in the past won’t set me free
I’ll always cherish our memories
I’m not sure how my story will read, but I know
The road I’m looking down
Looks good to me
I’ve walked down country roads
Trying to get back home
I’ve run on city streets
Bright lights helped me see
All roads lead back to me
Living in the past won’t set me free
I’ll always cherish our memories
I’m not sure how my story will read, but I know
The road I’m looking down
Looks good to me
I’m not sure how my story will read, but I know
That they’ll be plenty more
Sweet memories

Here take my hand, we’re gonna runaway
Without a plan, we’re livin’ for today
I’m on a bench in the park down the street
Come when you can and I’ll save you a seat
Could it be us for tonight
Could this be love, it feels so right
The stars align
Throughout the sky
In perfect time
Put life on hold before it passes by
Stories unfold, my heart it wouldn’t lie
Between the rhymes all the reasons were found
Your love, in time, put my feet on the ground
Candles light while the record turns
The stormy night helps the fire burn
Our stars aligned
Turns out your mine
In perfect time
Could it be us for tonight
Could this be love, it feels so right
The stars aligned
Turns out your mine
In perfect time
You’re mine in perfect time

The air feels thin in here
Like mountain atmosphere
Altitude’s 12,000 feet with you
The pressure’s building up
The words I seek get stuck
I try to spit them out to get to you
My world spun around
Couldn’t move or make a sound
Didn’t know what I should do
You took my breath away
When I heard you say
That you love me
I’ll never let you go
Now that I know
That you love me
You took my breath away
Took my breath away
With you I feel alive
But I’m scared to take the dive
I want to tell you that I love you too
I could have never planned
To find such a perfect man
I’m ready to begin a life with you
My world’s turned around
Moving at the speed of sound
And the frequency is you
You took my breath away
When I heard you say
That you love me
I’ll never let you go
Now that I know
That you love me
You took my breath away
Took my breath away
It takes my breath away
Every time you say
You love me
I’ll never let you go
Now that I know
That you love me
You took my breath away
When I heard you say
That you love me
I’ll never let you go
Now that I know
That you love me
You love me, you love me
I’ll never let you go, you love me
It took my breath away

You saw me walking
The twisted highway
When you looked my way
I was alone
You had me thinking
That I’d stop sinking
You had me thinking
That I could go
Far from the valley, valley so low
You really had me at hello
I’ll never know dear how much I love you
I’ll never know unless I go
We started dancing
And soon romancing
Taking chances
My heart was sore
But it was open
From what had broken
My heart is open
And I want more
And so we’ll rally, no keeping score
Up for the challenge, I want more
You’ll never know dear how much I love you
You’ll never know unless you go
Time heals everything
Life ebbs and flows
I find finer things
When I go
Far from the valley, valley so low
You really had me at hello
I’ll never know dear how much I love you
I’ll never know unless you go
You’ll never know unless you go

Waiting
Patience
Guiding
Trying
Lately
My needs
Find me
In the waiting room
Faintly
I see
You lead
Me home
Lately
My needs
Find me
In the waiting room
Waiting
Patience
Guiding
Trying
Lately
My needs
Find me
In the waiting room
I’m in the waiting room

Stay awake to rub my toes
It’s grounding me
Caught in this cycle of out of place energy
I fear the thoughts in my mind
Tick tock tock tick tock
When is our time
Head first I find my way
Feet barely following
Talk soft, oh speak slow
I love to hear you whispering
Tender, sweet lips
Say to me
You’re who I love
You’re who I want
Tress are dry, the air is cool
The sun is weak
Fall is here but you are gone
How do the seasons speak
Feet first, small steps
Find the ground
Towards who I love
Towards who I want
Tender, sweet lips, say to me
You’re who I love
You’re who I want
You’re who I need
You’re the one
Say to me…say to me
You’re the one

Somedays I lie awake
Staring at the ceiling as it gives more than it takes
These walls are the perfect shade of cream
To stall what livin’ really means
Someday, somewhere, somehow
I’ll be okay, just not now
Last night, I met you in my dreams
You said something very interesting
Someday, somewhere, somehow
We’ll be, just not now
I hit the road on my way to anywhere
Won’t fit the mold ’cause I’m enjoying being rare
You and me, see we are lingerin’ like this air
That roughly breezes through and tousles up my hair
Someday, somewhere, somehow
We’ll be, just not now
Someday, somewhere, somehow
We’ll be, just not now
We’ll be, just not now

Thank you for showing me
Things aren’t always what they seem
Thank you for being my friend
Yeah you, not knowingly, showed me that I could believe
In someone ’til the end
Perfect, not so
Courage to say
You are my everything
My everything
Thank you for giving me
A head to fight insanity
Thank you for being my friend
For you, I knowingly am the best that I can be
Thanks for the messages you send
Actions speak loud
Words lose their meanings
You are my everything
My everything
There are people in your life
Who come and go
Who let you down
You know they hurt your pride
We put it all behind us babe
As life goes on
We’re going strong
Thank you for showing me
Things aren’t always what they seem
Thank you for being my friend
Yeah you, not knowingly, showed me that I could believe
In someone ’til the end
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you for being my friend
